VTEC commissioned Atlantic to develop and refine their design aspiration for the modification and enhancement the Mk IV Intercity vehicles which form the fleet of thirty IC225 train sets. Working alongside the Mk III HST train sets, these vehicles will continue to provide passenger services until the introduction of new Hitachi IEP trains is complete in 2020.
