South West Trains

The refurbishment of the high-passenger density Class 455 stock for South West Trains required a radical approach to the issue of passenger overcrowding. Extensive research and passenger trials resulted in a radical re-configuration of the interior layout with the removal of 25% of seats within a four car set. The interior has been totally re-modelled to cope with additional standing capacity providing a comfortable, safe passenger environment.
